Abstract: The Energy Efficiency Directive was adopted in 2012, establishing indicative targets for 2020 and a set of binding measures in various sectors of the economy at national level. In compliance with the Directive’s provisions, Member States are required to present the progress and efforts made in the so-called National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs) every three years, starting from 2014. This report, which analyses the 2014 plans submitted by Member States, provides an overview of the national energy efficiency targets, outlines planned or implemented end-use and supply level measures and evaluates the energy savings resulting from the implementation of these measures.
