Title: An X-Ray Scattering Study of the Magnetic Structure near the (001) Surface of UO2

Abstract: We report glancing incidence X-Ray scattering studies of the magnetic structure observed near the (001) surface of the antiferromagnet UO2. Within about 50 A of the surface, the magnetic order parameter vanishes continuously as the bulk Neel temperature is approached from below. This contrasts sharply with the transition, which is discontinous.
