Abstract: This paper presents the results of sensitivity studies aiming to assess the impact of the AISI 316 ITER structural material composition on the activation characteristics of the in-vessel components. The influence of the protective layer material, namely beryllium, carbon fibre composite and tungsten, is also analysed and discussed.
