Abstract: The protanation equilibria of nitroanilines(B+H+=BH+) in HClO4/SiO2 and CF3SO3H/SiO2 mounted materials were studied by UV spectroscopy and the results were compared with those obtained for analogous indicatorsin concentrated aqueous solutions of HCiO4 and CF3SO3H. Analogies and differencies in the behaviour of values of indicators. It is shown that the equilibrium constants of indicators in the solid phase are analogous to the values estimated in concentrated aqueous acid solutions when suitable parameters to describe the properties of the medium under investigationare taken into account.
