Abstract: Two samples of mussels (Mytilus edulis) were collected from the southwest coast of Ireland containing different shellfish toxins. Aliquots were frozen as a wet homogenates and the other aliquots were freeze dried and milled. Stability of the different shellfish toxins was investigated for the two different materials at -20, +4, +20, +40 °C. In general the freeze dried material showed better stability for the shellfish toxins investigated.
