Abstract: In order to understand the role and influence of Cr, Ni, Si and Mn alloying elements on the mechanical and magnetic properties of NPP's materials 8 different welds with parametric variation of alloying elements was prepared within the framework of the SAFELIFE Action of JRC-IE and the AMES Network. The present report describes the mechanical and micromagnetic properties of such realistic welds. The results of Magnetic Barkhausen Noise measurements are correlated with the results of Charpy impact tests to allow a comparison between the different welds.
