Abstract: The Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has organised an international comparison exercise on determination of 226Ra, 228Ra, 234U and 238U in drinking water. In the present work the determinatoin of 234U, 238U and 226Ra radioisotopes in bottled drinking water by alpha spectrometry in presented with emphasis on radiochemical separation to establish traceable reference values.
