Abstract: A scheme for solar irradiance retrieval for the Europe from Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) data is here proposed. The surface irradiance is obtained by interpolation of multidimensional LUT which is generated using the radiative transfer code libRadtran. Satellite model assessment is based on set of 25 ground stations with measurements of global solar irradiance from high quality measurements networks.
