|Abstract:||This book analyzes six sporting events organized by the local government of Seville through its Local Institute for Sports during 2009. The different events cover a beach-volley national competition (2005), an international regatta competition Oxford-Cambridge-Sevilla-Betis (2005), an international WTA female tennis competition (2006), a local triathlon (2006), a local marathon (2008) and a world competition of swimming in open waters (2008). The economic and social impacts over the city of Seville is examined through several indicators such as: the willingness to pay (WTP) measure, the assessment of the relevance of the event from economic, social and sporting viewpoints; the general impact of the event; the assessment of social effects (satisfaction, traffic congestions, improvement of the image of the city...); and of economic effects (employment, tourism...).|
