Abstract: Reading literacy achievement is a general term used to describe the levels of reading comprehension of the school population. It is associated with large-scale assessments of reading at the fourth grade level PIRLS - Program for International Reading Literacy Study and with PISA - Program for International Student Assessment, which samples 15 year-olds in OECD and partner countries. Reading achievement in both surveys can be interpreted against an international mean set at 500 and a standard deviation of 100.
