Abstract: Reading literacy achievement is a general term used to describe the levels of reading comprehension of the school population. It is associated with large-scale assessments of reading at the fourth grade level PIRLS – Program for International Reading Literacy Study and with PISA – Program for International Student Assessment, which samples 15 year olds in OECD and partner countries. Reading achievement in both surveys can be interpreted against an international mean set at 500 and a standard deviation of 100.
