Recent advances have demostrated the feasibility of using coarse spatial resolution remote sensing imagery to assess tropical forest over large areas. To date, few methods have been developed for the estimation of change over large areas. A change detection method based on a combination of NOAA-AVHRR, IANDSAT TM, and SPOT-HRV data is evaluated on a study site in Vietnam, Southeast Asia. Changes detected with fine spatial resolution imagery are related to AVHRR-derived forest class proportions and fragmentation patterns. }, title = {A New Approach for Tropical Forest Area Monitoring Using Multiple Spatial Resolution Satellite Sensor Imagery.}, type = {}, url = {}, volume = {18}, number = {11}, journal = {International Journal Remote Sensing}, pages = {2455-2461}, issn = {}, publisher = {}, doi = {} }
