	abstract = {An Integration Workshop on Cogeneration was held at the Institute for Energy in Petten, The Netherlands, on 14-15 October 2004. The workshop was intended to inform delegates from the New Member, Candidate Countries and some West Balkan States of the recent Directive 2004/8/EC on the need to expand cogeneration in Europe as an energy saving measure. It was also an opportunity for the delegates to exchange experiences on this subject, and to raise issues which were working either for or against the development of cogeneration in their own countries. These proceedings contain the presentaiton and a summary of the main points made by the various presenters, the outcome of the various discussion sessions, and some thoughts on issues that might be discussed at a future workshop on this key energy saving area.
