The event, jointly hosted by EC's DG JRC Institute for Energy and by the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO), was held during 25-29 April 2005 in the prestigious Charlemagne building of the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
		
		With over 300 participants and more than 200 scientific contributions, 5ICI was a considerable success. This book of proceedings gathers some of the information that authors presented at 5ICI and were willing to disseminate for the benefit of collaboration, knowledge and research.
