The functionalisation was done by grafting allylamine or acrylic acid (AAc) using UV light radical activation. The active groups of the surface were quantified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) after chemical derivatisation with trifluoroethanol (TFE) or 4-trifluoromethylbenzaldehyde (TFBA), respectively. Grafting with AAc completely covered the PPy film introducing high levels of carboxylic function. In the case of allylamine grafting, a saturation point at low amine carbon level was achieved.
