	abstract = {The International Co-operative Programme on European Forest (ICP-Forest) was launched in the 80’s as a response to the concern on the impact of pollution on the health state of forest. Tree defoliation and decolouration of leaves is observed every year on a sample of plots. The sampling scheme is systematic, theoretically based on a regular grid of 16 km. The practical application of the sampling rules has been rather heterogeneous in different countries. We analyse the difficulties arisen to use this sample for statistical or spatial analysis.
