The overall goal of this study is to support the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in assessing the environmental impacts and sustainability of energy sources in the EU. In particular, it provides an analysis of the status and prospects (up to 2030) of Coalbed Methane (CBM) from the sustainability point of view, i.e. economic, environmental, and social implications.
