Status of Natech Risk Management
In many countries, a legal framework for chemical-accident prevention and mitigation exists and some programmes address Natech risk directly or implicitly. Nonetheless, the repeated occurrence of Natech accidents raises questions about the effectiveness of these frameworks. This chapter provides examples of national approaches and international activities to reduce Natech risks.
