In this work we propose a procedure for precise calibration of slow responding PV devices which allows for an accurate evaluation of their response time and, consequently, for a reliable calibration fulfilling all requirements specified in the standards (IEC 60904 and IEC 60891). The application of this procedure to the case of three dye-sensitized solar devices (one single cell and two mini-modules) is presented. The spectral responsivity (SR) measurements were performed at 1 Hz chopping frequency and were used for mismatch factor calculation. The low chopping frequency resulted from an analysis of the device time response. To ensure reliable electrical characterization, current-voltage measurements were performed at different sweep -time and -direction. By comparing these measurement results, a reliable evaluation of the appropriate sweep time for I-V characterization was determined. Combining appropriate SR and I-V measurements yielded a calibration of these devices according to the IEC 60904 series of standards
