SETIS Magazine: Low-carbon Heating and Cooling
The SETIS magazine aims at delivering timely information and analysis on the state of play of energy technologies, related research and innovation efforts in support of the implementation of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan). The current issue is dedicated to Low-carbon Heating and Cooling
The editorial for the Low-carbon Heating and Cooling issue is provided by European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-ETP) President Gerhard Stryi-Hipp. This issue also hosts interviews by:
Federica Sabbati - Association of the European Heating Industry Secretary General
Thomas Novak – European Heat Pump Association Secretary General
Paul Voss - Euroheat & Power Managing Director
Roberto Francia – COGEN EUROPE Managing Director
A contribution from DG ENER discusses the EU strategy on heating and cooling, the actions it calls for and the benefits it will bring. In addition, the JRC – the European Commission's in-house science service – examines the potential for the valorisation of waste heat in industrial processes, citing results from the SILC I projects. Another JRC contribution takes a look at the biomass approach to heating and cooling. Finally, a contribution from DG RTD provides information on the Horizon Prize for a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) installation in a hospital using 100% renewable energy sources.
