The Role and Implementation of Next-Generation Sequencing Technologies in the Coordinated Action Plan against Antimicrobial Resistance

On the 21st and 22nd of March, a two-day workshop was organised by the Knowledge for Health and Consumer Safety Unit of the Joint Research Centre, on the Role and Implementation of Next-Generation Sequencing Technologies in the European Action Plan against Antimicrobial Resistance. The workshop brought together 15 international experts representing the top expertise in the use of NGS to detect the genetic determinants of AMR in diverse fields: clinical, human health, animal health, food and environmental monitoring. Representatives from the JRC, EMBL-EBI and standardisation authorities were also present in the discussions.
