EFIResources: Resource Efficient Construction towards Sustainable Design
The research project EFIResources: Resource Efficient Construction towards Sustainable Design, supports European policies related to the efficient use of resources in construction and its major goal is the development of a performance based approach for sustainable design, enabling to assess resource efficiency of buildings in the early stages of building design.
This report focusses on development of the performance based approach for sustainable design, enabling to assess resource efficiency of buildings, is in line with the assessment of safety criteria of the European standards for structural design.
The proposed approach, which is based on a standardised procedure for LCA, aims to harmonize the sustainable assessment of buildings in Europe and to enable an easier integration of structural and sustainability criteria into the design process, thus coping with the basic requirements for construction works of the Construction Products Regulation.
