Editorial

The Eighth International Conference on Sensitivity Analysis of Model Output, SAMO 2016, was held at the University of Reunion in the city of Le Tampon from November 30 to December 3, 2016. This event was the continuation of the long tradition in SAMO community which started in Belgirate (Italy, 1995), then Venice (Italy, 1998), followed by Madrid (Spain, 2001), Santa Fe (USA, 2004), Budapest (Hungary, 2007), Milan (Italy 2010) and Nice (France 2013). It was the first time that SAMO Conference had taken place in the south hemisphere precisely in this French tropical island named Reunion. This conference was dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of Ilya M. Sobol’, the famous Russian Mathematician, whose contribution to the discipline is invaluable.
