Results of the SGPP survey on health-related priorities for 2021-2027 agenda on best practices

cover
The report describes results of a prioritisation exercise for upcoming calls for best practices based on consultations with members of the Steering Group on Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Management of Non-Communicable Diseases (SGPP). These results will inform the SGPP’s future work plan, with the focus on the two first years of the next multiannual financial framework (2021-2022). This report identifies top priorities and actions with established EU added value. The remaining topics and the SGPP’s input on them is presented in this report and can be taken up by the group progressively in the next years. The SGPP is a formal Commission expert group established in 2018 to support European Union Member States in the field of health promotion, disease prevention and the management of NCDs. Selection and transfer of best practices have been the main mechanism to support countries in these areas. The response rate to the survey was 72%.4 The SGPP members were asked to select at least five out of 295 pre-defined topics that were relevant to their country and would most benefit from being addressed at EU level. The top four ranked topics were: 1. Anti-microbial resistance; 2. Cancer; 3. Access and availability of medical products and; 4. Prevention of non-communicable diseases. The final ranking is presented in Table 1.
