Music Emotion Recognition: towards new robust standards in personalized and context-sensitive applications
This article presents a review of the challenges and limitations of Music Emotion Recognition research. Our aims are: (1) to provide insight on the typical approaches that use signal processing and machine learning, and (2) hint at how previous research directs to specific future
directions. We provide the historical context, motivation, and a general description of the task. We conclude with an outline of the proposed paper and a selection of relevant references.
