Interoperability, of location data as well as in general, is one of the key enablers of the digital transformation of the public sector. However, as an enabling horizontal factor, it's exact contribution is hard to measure. This report quantifies the impact of location interoperability in the European Union. The report does so by first discussing the context of policy developments and technological developments relevant for location interoperability. It continues by developing and analyzing an extensive collection of cases of location interoperability. The report complements the case collection with an economic impact assessment of public sector interoperability in general, and a break down into location interoperability. Lastly, the reports concludes by developing policy recommendations based on the evidence compiled in the previous sections.
