Insight into the Crystal Structures and Physical Properties of the Uranium Borides UB1.78±0.02, UB3.61±0.041 and UB11.19±0.13
In this study we report the synthesis of three polycrystalline uranium borides UB1.78±0.02, 11 UB3.61±0.041 and UB11.19±0.13 and their analysis using chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, 12 SQUID magnetometry, solid-state NMR and Fourrier Transformed Infrared. We discuss the 13 effects of stoichiometry deviations on the lattice parameters and magnetic properties. Provide 14 their static and MAS-NMR spectra showing the effects of the 5f-electrons compared to other 15 metallic compounds. Finally, the FTIR show the presence of slight local disorder.
