Sviluppo Sostenibile : l'Ecolabel per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti
The article describes the Council Regulation 880/92 concerning the EC label for ecological quality, Ecolabel. This label is part of the strategy adopted by EU for attaining sustainable development.The fundamental aspects of the Regulament are reviewed with special attention to the procedure for the adoption of Ecolabel for different products and to final award to commercial products. Defects and qualities of already adopted Ecolabels are analyzed and possible improvements are discussed. Finally the role of the chemist in the study of Environmental Impact Assessment and Life Cycle Analysis, in the characterisation of product groups and in producing industrial goods which satisfy Ecolabel requirements is described.
