This report details the methodology of the Consumption Footprint indicator employed in the science for policy report ‘Consumption Footprint and Domestic Footprint: Assessing the environmental impacts of EU consumption and production’ and the Consumption Footprint Platform . In particular, it reflects the current data sources to quantify the consumption intensity of representative products, as well as provides information on the modelling principles followed for the new representative products added to the indicator.
The document provides an overview of the methodological assumption and data sources employed in the calculation of the Consumption Footprint, including the goal and scope, current composition, overview of data sources for consumption intensity, data gap filling approaches, and general assumption for the modelling of the environmental impacts of the representative products.
