Attraversare il campo con una ricerca lenta e creativa: riflessioni dal progetto «Sensing for Justice» [Crossing the field with slow and creative research: Reflections from the «Sensing for Justice» project]
Can socio-legal research be critical and creative at the same time? How can art become a research method and practice? What are the implications of a slow, empathic and participatory approach to field research? The Sensing for Justice research project has confronted me with these questions to which I have developed answers, through confrontation with relevant theories and lived experiences in the field. The article offers a discussion of the theoretical foundations of a creative approach to research; it describes the methodological framework adopted; it recounts field research based on slow ethnography and artistic research methods; it addresses the ethical aspects of research, in particular by describing the use of visual informed consent; finally, it discusses innovative strategies for communicating the results obtained. In conclusion, the article offers concluding reflections that may be useful for other researchers who decide to take this path.
