Multi-label Infectious Disease News Event Corpus
This paper describes a new corpus consisting of circa 4.5K news snippets (multi-)labelled with fine-grained infectious disease-related event types. The paper presents the underlying event taxonomy consisting of 25 event categories, the process of creating the corpus, related statistics and reports on the performance of SVM- and transformer-based baseline models for multi-label event classification
