State of play and future steps for the EU Biodiversity Strategy (EU BDS) dashboard
→ The EU BDS dashboard is publicly accessible through the website of the European Commission’s Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD) under “Tools”.
→ The EU BDS dashboard currently contains 10 indicators to monitor progress on 5 out of the 16 targets.
→ Next steps to fill the gaps in the EU BDS dashboard are presented in this note, differentiating short-term next steps (over the next months) and long-term next steps (over the next years).
→ EU BP is invited to give its feedback on the addition of the 3 proposed indicators in the EU BDS dashboard over the next months.
→ The connection between the EU BDS dashboard and the future monitoring of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) is briefly discussed in this note, focusing on the mapping with headline indicators of the GBF.
