JRC MARS Bulletin - Crop monitoring in Europe - July 2023 - Vol. 31 No 7
Yield outlook further reduced
As a result of analyses conducted for the 1 June to 16 July 2023 review period, the yield forecasts for almost all crops considered were revised downward. At EU level, the yield forecast for most crops remains at or slightly above the mediocre 5-year average. The main reason for the worsened yield expectations are the distinctly drier-than-usual conditions that occurred for more than one month in large parts of western, central and northern Europe, as well as in eastern Romania.
