Soil Atlas of Asia
The first ever SOIL ATLAS OF ASIA uses striking maps, informative texts and stunning photographs to answer and explain these questions.
Scientists from both Asia and Europe have collaborated over several years to produce this unique document. The Atlas shows the changing nature of soil across this vast continent. It explains the factors that control the origins of soil and their evolution over time, the functions and ecosystem services that they support and their relevance to local and global issues, and in particular the way that we live our lives.
The Atlas also discusses the main threats to soil across different parts of Asia and the steps being taken to protect them. The SOIL ATLAS OF ASIA is more than just a collection of maps. Rather, this volume presents an interpretation of an often neglected but vital natural resource that surrounds and affect us all. The SOIL ATLAS OF ASIA is an essential reference to a non-renewable resource that is fundamental for life on this planet.
