Certification of different mass fractions of DBN-09004-6 in soya bean seed powder: ERM®-BF441a, ERM®-BF441b, ERM®-BF441c, ERM®-BF441d and ERM®-BF441e
ERM®-BF441(a-e) are five soya seed powder materials certified for their mass fraction of DBN-09004-6 (unique identifier code DBN-Ø9ØØ4-6), produced within the scope of ISO 17034 accreditation.
Genetically modified (GM) soya seeds of the DBN-09004-6 event and seeds from a non-GM soya variety were milled, sieved and dried to obtain GM and non-GM seed powders. Mixtures were prepared gravimetrically. Between-unit homogeneity was quantified and stability during transport and storage was assessed in accordance with ISO Guide 35:2017. The minimum sample size for one measurement is 200 mg.
The certified values were obtained from the gravimetric preparations, taking into account the purity of the base materials and their water mass fractions. The certified values were confirmed by event-specific real-time PCR within the scope of accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Uncertainties of the certified values were calculated in accordance with ISO 17034:2016 and include uncertainties related to possible inhomogeneity, instability and characterisation.
The materials are intended for the calibration or quality control of methods for the identification and quantification of genetically modified DBN-09004-6 soya in food and feed.
