JRC MARS Bulletin - Crop monitoring in Europe - August 2024 Vol. 32 No 8
Severe impacts of hot conditions in the south
Summer crops in large parts of southern, southern central and eastern Europe were severely impacted by exceptionally hot conditions, combined with limited water availability. Winter crops in northern and north-western Europe experienced an overly wet end of season. Yield forecasts at EU level were revised downwards for almost all crops, and are now below the 5-year average for most crops.
