JRC MARS Bulletin - Global outlook - Crop monitoring European neighbourhood - Türkiye, September 2024
Average summer crop season
Weather conditions in Türkiye were mixed for winter crop growth, whereas favourable conditions prevailed for summer crops. Yield estimates for winter cereals are below last year value but above the 5-year average, notably for barley, production of which is concentrated in western and northern Anatolian regions, and durum wheat, thanks to the optimal season in south-eastern regions. Yield forecasts for summer crops are above last year’s yield and the 5-year average thanks to the abundant irrigation reservoirs used and a not too hot temperatures.
