Below-average production outlook for winter wheat
Unfavourable weather events led to reduced yield and production expectations for winter cereals. The spring sowing campaign progressed well in European Russia, but in Asian Russia it was hampered by cold and wet conditions, resulting in a decrease in the sowing area, partly offsetting the positive yield outlook for spring cereals. The season for grain maize has just started.
