A database of EUROPLEXUS numerical models for the simulation of the NTNU shock tube and other test facilities — Revision 1
This report presents a collection of EUROPLEXUS numerical models developed at JRC for the simulation of experiments conducted in the SIMLab Shock Tube Facility (SSTF) or in other similar test facilities of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. The numerical models considered are those developed over several years of collaboration between JRC and NTNU and whose results have been published in a number of selected scientific papers and main technical reports (the chosen studies).
One or a few representative simulations are selected for each one of the chosen studies and the corresponding input files are documented in detail, re-run to verify their compatibility with the current version of EPX, and stored in a well-organized folder structure (the database). This "certified" material will provide a safe and convenient starting point for future studies.
For each simulation, all the input files necessary to carry out the entire simulation starting from scratch are provided, whenever possible. This includes the mesh generation files, often based on Cast3m, one or more EPX input files for the numerical simulations (several files are needed if the mapping option is exploited) and a selection of post-processing files, which may include both EPX files and ParaView state files.
The database and the accompanying document (this report) are meant to be continuously updated with new material as the numerical modelling activity continues over the years.
