JRC Makers-in-Residence Programme: Exploring Urban Memories - A Multimedia Journey through Landscape, Sound and Stories around Ispra
This project, “Exploring Urban Memories: A Multimedia Journey Through Landscape, Sound and Stories around Ispra”, delves into diverse spaces in the town of Ispra and its surroundings, uncovering private and collective memories through experimental cartography and multimedia pieces. Through audio recordings and images, the project captures unique stories and sounds embedded within the urban landscape, fostering reflection and dialogue. By embracing concepts like nostalgia and storytelling, it offers a transversal proposal for artists and a broader audience, highlighting the complexity and hybrid nature of urban environments. Utilising walking as a method of exploration and conducting interviews in Italian, the project provides an intimate understanding of the territory, enriching its portrayal through multiple perspectives and sensory experiences. Ultimately, it presents Ispra as a dynamic space intertwined with history, innovation, and diverse narratives, inviting viewers to engage with its layered temporalities and collective memories.
