The role of carbon capture across hard-to-abate industries in the EU: a review of projections for 2030 and 2050
In this science for policy brief, we map and analyse the main projections available in the open literature made by industry, international organisations, consultancy firms, NGOs and research institutes for the role of carbon capture within the EU cement, iron and steel and chemical sectors. Fifteen modelling scenarios presented in ten recent publications are harmonised and the results are reviewed and discussed for the years 2030 and 2050.
