State of play and future steps for the EU Biodiversity Strategy (EU BDS) dashboard
November 2024 update
→ The EU BDS dashboard is publicly accessible through the website of the European Commission’s Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD) under “Tools”.
→ The EU BDS dashboard currently contains 16 indicators to monitor progress on 8 out of the 16 EU BDS targets.
→ The five indicators selected following the last meetings of the EU Biodiversity Platform’s Monitoring and Assessment subgroup (EUBP-MA) will be published in the following months, covering two additional targets.
→ The indicator developed to track progress on the EU BDS commitment to unlock at least € 20 billion/year for biodiversity will be published in the EU BDS dashboard as soon as technically feasible.
→ One indicator on the representativeness of the protected areas network on land, already presented to EUBP-MA, is now proposed to be published: EUBP-MA is invited to give its feedback on it.
→ The Science Service will be solicited to help filling the remaining gaps in monitoring the EU BDS targets.
