Earth Observation against environmental crime
→ There is growing demand for Earth Observa-tion to help fight environmental crime and to assure environmental compliance more broadly.
→ Technological advances in Earth Observa-tion, flanked by related policies, broadens its possible applications in environmental law enforcement.
→ Despite success in specific domains (e.g. maritime surveillance) uptake of Earth Ob-servation in combatting environmental crime remains limited in Europe.
→ Efforts are needed to bring together those responsible for environmental compliance assurance and those providing Earth Obser-vation-based services to match respective needs and capacities.
