Supply 2023
This report describes the assumptions, methodology and data used to produce the supply maps of the EU Energy Atlas from the EUROSTAT national energy balances. The results consist of eight gridded maps of the EU showing an estimation of the supply of the main categories of energy products at 1x1 km scale. This report shows as an example the results based on 2023 data from EUROSTAT and other datasets from the JRC’s Energy and Industry Geography Lab. The supply and demand maps of the EU Energy Atlas are key foundations for forthcoming spatial analyses which will identify national and regional infrastructure needs in the context of the EU’s energy transition goals.
