Mapping and Assessment of Population and Socioeconomic dynamics
The "MAPS" data collection is a repository for spatially-explicit data. It includes data and indicators in the form of geospatial layers or tabular data at the local or regional scales. Datasets usually cover the European Union extent, for a range of socioeconomic themes such as population, land use, transport and accessibility. They may include historical data or forward-looking projections, such as population and socioeconomic projections. The datasets can be the result of fusion of data from official and alternative sources, as well as model outputs. The Territorial Development unit of the Joint Research Centre maintains this repository to support assessments of impacts of EU trends, and policies with a strong territorial dimension.
