This report provides a summary of the key highlights of the 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) which took place in Bilbao between 22 and 26 September 2025. The event programme included more than 1,000 scientific presentations. The report also provides an explainer on the history of this the EU PVSEC conference, which is the largest technical conference about photovoltaics globally. The role of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in the overall coordination of the scientific programme is also explained. The technical contributions of JRC staff to the 42nd EU PVSEC are listed.
