This report presents statistics on the use of novel tobacco and nicotine products in the EU, with a focus on the younger population. It examines the trends and patterns of use of electronic-cigarettes, heated tobacco products and nicotine pouches by comparing them with the use of traditional tobacco products. The prevalence of use is broken down by age groups, country, intensity of use and specific types of products used. While smoking prevalence has decreased in the EU over the past two decades, the use of electronic cigarettes and other emerging products has gained popularity among young adults and adolescents. This poses new challenges to tobacco and nicotine control strategies in the EU.
