Clean Energy Technology Observatory: Heat Pumps in the European Union - 2025 Status Report on Technology Development, Trends, Value Chains and Markets
This report provides an overview of the current status, value chains and market positions of the heat pump technology in the EU. This includes an analysis of residential and non-residential applications, technological frontiers, and market trends. Research and development trends are also described, focusing particularly on the technologal progress made in EU-funded research by the end of 2024. This report also assesses the EU’s manufacturing and global competitiveness within the heat pump value chain and identifies potential bottlenecks and supply risks.
