This study aims to identify and define mitigation measures for the eCall legacy issues where vehicles equipped with legacy eCall devices supporting only 2G/3G networks will not be able to operate after the shutdown of 2G,3G networks in the EU Member States.
These mitigation measures may include different elements including TPS eCall in-vehicle systems, SW-Upgrade and aftermarket solutions (AS), which may be based on the integration of mobile devices or standalone mobile devices.
The report aims to define high level requirements for the design and deployment of aftermarket solutions (AS).
The report also aims to collect statistics and information on the current use of TPS eCall in-vehicle systems and AS and potential gaps and issues to be addressed for a successful deployment and use of these systems in the market
