This collection provides harmonised geospatial information on cross-border interactions in EU border regions and with EFTA countries. It covers various domains including transport, public services, healthcare, cross-border governance, border obstacles and more. Additionally, the collection includes socio-economic indicators that are useful for characterising and comparing border regions, supporting policymaking at local and regional scales. It also serves as a source of information for scholars interested in both quantitative and qualitative research in border studies. The data are elaborated by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) based on various official sources, including Eurostat, DG REGIO, and other stakeholders that promote cross-border cooperation in the EU. Datasets are accessible on the Data Hub for Cross-Border Regions https://territorial.ec.europa.eu/across. ACROSS is an initiative of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC).
